Informational Announcement: Brexit – Implications for Credit Ratings

Since the Brexit vote in June 2016, S&P Global Ratings has worked to ensure that credit ratings issued by certain of its non-EU offices continue to be used, post-Brexit, for regulatory purposes in the EU.

By August 1, 2018 the S&P Global Ratings entities operating in EMEA (except for operations in Israel) merged into S&P Global Ratings Europe Limited (SPGRE), a Dublin-based Irish company.

Apart from issuing credit ratings in Dublin, SPGRE will continue to operate from S&P Global Ratings’ locations in London, Paris, Milan, Stockholm, Moscow, Frankfurt, Madrid, Dubai, Riyadh, Warsaw and Johannesburg, which have become branches of SPGRE. Following the respective mergers, credit ratings issued out of an SPGRE branch should, under Regulation (EC) No. 1060/2009 on Credit Rating Agencies, as amended (Regulation), be considered as issued by SPGRE in Dublin.

SPGRE is registered with ESMA under the Regulation.

Desde la votación sobre el Brexit en junio de 2016, S&P Global Ratings ha trabajado para asegurar que las calificaciones crediticias que se emiten desde algunas oficinas que no pertenecen a la Unión Europea (UE) continúen usándose, después del Brexit, para fines regulatorios en la UE.

A partir del 1 de agosto de 2018, las entidades de S&P Global Ratings que operan en EMEA (siglas en inglés para identificar la región de Europa, Medio Oriente y África), excepto las de Israel, se fusionarán en S&P Global Ratings Europe Limited (SPGRE), empresa irlandesa basada en Dublín.

This calendar sets out publication dates for sovereign ratings and related rating outlooks as required by the European Union Regulation on credit rating agencies (Regulation (EC) No 1060/2009 on credit rating agencies, as amended). S&P Global Ratings has nominated two publication dates for each sovereign it currently rates from the European Union, including sovereigns that have solicited and unsolicited ratings. As required by the regulation, all publication dates are on Fridays and deviation from the calendar is only permitted in exceptional circumstances, to meet regulatory obligations. Any deviation would be accompanied by a detailed explanation.
