Fund Management Ratings

Since 1990, Standard & Poor’s Fund Management Ratings have provided insight into the performance of the world’s leading investment funds by examining the people, processes and team behind the fund.

Standard & Poor’s offers qualitative assessment of around 1,600 managed funds globally. Funds analysed include conventional equity funds, fixed income funds, balanced funds and more complex funds using derivatives, long/short strategies and funds-of-hedge-funds. Our expertise extends to specialist funds (eg, infrastructure, climate change, Shariah) and newly launched funds.

Once a fund is covered, Standard & Poor’s produces a report giving the analyst opinion along with key information about the fund. The report includes:

• Analyst opinion
• Management style
• Background to the investment team
• Explanation of the performance and portfolio review
• Investment philosophy

We do not currently undertake qualitative fund management ratings for U.S.-domiciled mutual funds and single strategy hedge funds. However, we do offer qualitative fund ratings and research on offshore funds including funds-of-hedge-funds.
