S&P Municipal Bond Credit Quality Based Indices |
The Standard & Poor's Municipal Bond Index is a broad, market value-weighted index that seeks to measure the performance of the U.S. municipal bond market. All bonds in the index are exempt from U.S. federal income taxes or subject to the alternative minimum tax (AMT). The credit quality based indices classify the bonds included within each respective sub-index by its rating by Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s, or Fitch.
