GICS
Widely accepted among investment researchers, portfolio and asset managers as one of the most commonly used industry classifications in the world, the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®) and its methodology have helped pave the way for sector based investing by providing transparency and efficiency to the investment process.
Developed by Standard & Poor's and MSCI Barra, GICS consists of 10 sectors, 24 industry groups, 67 industries and 147 sub-industries.
